Understanding customization techniques

At Cré

The purpose of this page is to explain the differences and benefits of sublimation and flocking.

It also aims to help you make the right choice without entering into technical manufacturing aspects.

Sublimation: an integrated and sustainable rendering

The sublimation is a printing technique that allows to integrate the visual directly into the support.

✔️ Its advantages

  • Net and accurate, ideal for photos, detailed illustrations and gradients
  • None over thickness : the visual is an integral part of the support
  • Excellent holding in time (washing, daily use)
  • Touch perfectly smooth

🎯 Ideal for

  • Mugs, gourdes, plates, rigid articles treated with polyester
  • Clear polyester textiles
  • Custom gifts durable

Flocage: relief and visual impact

Floating consists of applying a pattern cut into a specific material, then heat-glued on the support, in order to achieve a durable and resistant customization.

✔️ Its advantages

  • Highlighting very appreciated
  • Colors opaque and intense
  • Excellent contrast, even on dark supports
  • Ideal for simple text, logos and patterns

🎯 Ideal for

  • Personalised clothing (shirts, sweatshirts, bags...)
  • Names, logos, short messages
  • Short series or unique customizations

Which technique?

The choice depends mainly on:

  • support to be customized,
  • type of visual (photo, logo, text),
  • desired effect (integrated or in relief).

At Creative Art DecoWe advise you the most suitable technique for your project, for an aesthetic and lasting result.
